Pre-Super Bowl Bass on Lake Talquin

Headed to Lake Talquin with Alain of www.youtube.com/Soflobassfishing on a foggy Sunday.  Headed out of coe’s landing on the east side of the lake and proceeded to fish what locals call the iron curtain. The Iron Curtain is a group of trees that are located within the lake creating great structure for fish.  We ended up catching a few fish here as well as loosing quite a few. On the outskirts of the trees I managed to hook up with a freshwater catfish which hit a senko worm with paddle tail rigged weedless. We continued on and ended the day catching a huge 5lb large mouth. Here are the pictures from the day!

  1. Beautiful Bass. Always makes for a great day when you snag a 5 pounder. Good luck on your next adventure. I am from SE TN and your blog makes me think of home and fishing. I miss the lunkers from the TN river. Great blog. Check out:

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I just recently took up bass fishing as I had always had a soft spot for the salt. But One day I figured I would give bass fishing a try as the weather was not favorable on the coast. After that I was hooked, love the blog as well as flyfishing!

      Stay Tuned for more!
